Project Overview

Gurugram

Bandhwari Landfill Remediation & Integrated Waste Processing

Bhumi Green Energy's Gurugram initiative is dedicated to tackling the colossal waste challenges of the National Capital Region. By deploying large-scale bio-mining and fresh waste processing infrastructure at the Bandhwari landfill, we are actively clearing decades of legacy waste while simultaneously processing high volumes of daily municipal solid waste to restore the Aravalli ecosystem.

Bandhwari Bio-Mining

Executing massive-scale bio-mining operations to segregate and process lakhs of metric tonnes of legacy waste, steadily shrinking the towering garbage mountains in the Aravalli belt.

1200+
Daily MT Processing Capability

Metric tonnes of combined fresh and legacy municipal solid waste managed efficiently every day to prevent new accumulations.

High-Grade RDF Extraction

Converting combustible waste fractions into high-calorific Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) to supply nearby Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plants and cement kilns across Northern India.

Operational Insights

Core Approach

Large-Scale Legacy & Fresh Waste Treatment

The Bandhwari site represents one of NCR's most critical environmental hurdles. To combat decades of accumulated refuse and Gurugram's surging daily waste generation, our operations deploy heavy-duty trommels and automated sorting lines. This dual-pronged strategy targets incoming fresh refuse while systematically dismantling the legacy mountain, aiming to recover prime land and protect local groundwater sources.

Icon

Massive Legacy Accumulations

Addressing millions of tonnes of historical waste via bio-remediation and mechanical screening, successfully recovering soil enricher (bio-earth), RDF, and separating inert materials.

Challenge 01
Icon

High Daily Urban Influx

Managing the rapid urbanization of the Gurugram-Faridabad belt requires continuous, high-capacity processing to ensure over 1000 MT of fresh daily waste does not end up in landfills.

Challenge 02
Icon

Leachate & Odour Mitigation

Deploying advanced odour suppression technologies and facilitating proper leachate management to safeguard the fragile surrounding Aravalli ecosystem and groundwater levels.

Challenge 03

Our Proven Work Process

A rigorous, scalable methodology utilized at Bandhwari to remediate legacy sites while efficiently processing Gurugram's daily fresh waste streams.

01
Assessment
Phase 1

Site Prep & Bio-Mining Setup

Stabilizing sectors of the legacy landfill, managing existing leachate ponds, and installing heavy-duty trommel screens to initiate round-the-clock bio-mining operations.

02
Segregation
Phase 2

Trommel Screening & Sorting

Excavated historical waste and fresh incoming garbage undergo rigorous mechanical segregation to separate bio-earth (fine soil), high-calorific materials, and heavy inerts.

03
Treatment
Phase 3

Resource Recovery (RDF)

Non-recyclable dry plastics, cloth, and paper are processed into bales of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) and dispatched to nearby WtE plants, maximizing resource recovery.

04
Monitoring
Phase 4

Land Reclamation

As legacy waste is processed and fresh waste is scientifically diverted, the towering landfills are gradually flattened, restoring original topography and community health.

The Results

Impact Delivered

Clean Gurugram

Aravalli Protection

Significantly lowering the risk of groundwater contamination and air pollution by clearing millions of tonnes of accumulated waste from the sensitive Aravalli region.
